Wonder Girls (with 2PM as guests) Concert recap && seeing 2PM on the streets of NYC and getting autographs. Click to read. Post under cut.

+ I double posted today because I had a draft I forgot to publish. Read the post below for my senior trip experience :)

On June 6th 2010, I went to Wonder Girls’ concert (with 2PM -minus Junsu- as guests) in NYC. I went with three other friends and had a blast. Surprisingly, this concert was so much more calmer than the VAMPS concert I went to back in July of 2009. Last year at the VAMPS’ concert, fans started lining up two days before the show. No one camped out at this concert. I arrived with my other friend (later joined by another two) around 8:30AM, and we were like seventh on line (I started lining up for the VAMPS’ concert at 7AM and there was a long line already). The show opened at 6PM and there was a huge ruckus with the line up since the guards messed it up. They allowed people from the back to make a line next to us, making it unfair for people who lined up for the whole day. The guards were jerks who didn’t care nor did they bother to deal with the problem despite complaints from people who lined up early in the morning. Thankfully my friends and I were able to stand at the front row. From my past experience at a standing concert, I knew not to stand right in the middle and stood towards the right. I also made sure I made room for myself and positioned myself against the barricade so when people starts pushing and stuff, I would be able to push back.

The concert started with some girl singing about 3 – 4 songs. I felt bad for her because people had no clue who she was and everyone wanted to see 2PM and the Wonder Girls. After she left the stage, JYP showed up! He made some announcement how he had to order a private plane for WG and 2PM because all the other planes were delayed/canceled due to the forecast of a storm. In addition he said something about Wonder Girls’ “success” in the US, and how he hopes we would help them make WG’s the first Asians to succeed. 2PM came out after JYP’s speech, and everyone went wild. There were a lot of pushing (although not as much as the one at VAMPS). I was really lucky because the person behind me and on my right were calm people. Because they were standing firm at their positions, they really helped blocked me from other people that were pushing from the back. My friend was supposedly be on my left side, but some bitch (excuse my language, but she was a real B), pushed her way through. She eventually separated me and my friends. Everyone around her was annoyed at her and she was extremely rude. There was clearly no room between my friend and I, but yet she still shoved her little ass in. In addition before she got in between me and my friend, her arms were all over my other friend trying to record and shit. Throughout the whole concert I purposely pushed her, and my friend from the other side also did they same because they thought she was pushing them =_=” I would’ve enjoyed the concert more if it was for that obnoxious girl.

Anyways, 2PM had a lot of cheers, probably more than Wonder Girls. They performed all their singles: Heartbeat, Again & Again, I Hate You, 10 out of 10, and Without You. The boys look exactly the same from pictures. TaecYeon was the most energetic one. He even came towards my side and stuck out his hand, too bad my arms were too short T_T BUT! My friend got to touch him. He was even right in front of me TT_TT. After they left the stage, Wonder Girls came on! The girls are beautiful. In my opinion, they look better in real life. SoHee, Yubin, and SunYe are extremely gorgeous in person. They performed their songs in English and also did covers of English songs.

After the concert we left. I had a blast and really enjoyed my time. When we returned to my friend’s house, we all realized we had some sort of bruises from barricades XD One of my friend (the one who was on the other side of the bitch) had a lot of bruises on her arms. I didn’t have much since I had calm people around me and I didn’t tolerate any pushing that girl did. Although I had some bruises on my kneecap, since I used my legs to push against the barricade to push people back.

The next day I cut school right after lunch with another friend, hoping to catch 2PM members shopping on the streets of Broadway/SoHo. I was going to meet up with 4 other friends, when I spotted another friend right across the street. She was on her phone and was pointing at another direction to me. I didn’t get her message until she shouted 2PM. I then turned and screamed. They were right across the streets from the three of us, and surprisingly, they were walking towards our side! (yes they jaywalked LMAO. But everyone does that in NYC). It was Nichkhun, Junho, Chansung, WooYoung, and two female managers(?). (no Taec :( ) They were walking towards Bloomingdales where my friends and I were right in front of. We were starstruck and didn’t know what to do. LMAO. But I went right up to them -since I knew it was once in a lifetime chance- and asked for pictures/autographs. Since Nichkhun was my favorite then and was the closest one to me, I asked him but he said no :( As they walked passed us, I saw Chansung give a slight smile. He was probably happy that someone recognized them XD

The guys walked in a group and really stood out, especially Junho because he wore bright colors lmao. By the way they walk, their height, etc… was really eye catching. Nichkhun had scars on his face. Chansung didn’t shave XD. Junho’s face seemed fine to me, but my friend claimed he had pimples. I didn’t see WooYoung’s face closely. My other four friends came and one of them didn’t believe us that we saw them =_= We went in the store and couldn’t find them. The four friends that came later went downstairs and saw them and took a picture with Chansung. I was really upset because they didn’t tell us. We were the ones who told them that we saw them :(

When they were leaving the store, we tried talking to them but they kind of ignored us and left quickly. Nichkhun seemed the coldest to me. Me and two other friends (the ones that didn’t get a picture) decided to walk around Boardway because we were bitter about the picture LOL. While walking we saw Junho, Chansung, and two of their managers standing on the side! We asked for a picture but they didn’t let, so we asked for autographs. OMG, and they finally said yes. I didn’t have my Yearbook or anything so I had them since on the back of a white sheet of paper. I also got to shake hands with them too :D My friend jumped on Junho and got a hug LOLOLOL. I asked Junho, he said yes but the stupid manager blocked me and said no :( The manager then separated with the two boys and made sure we didn’t follow them XD. We stood at the end of the block and surprisingly Junho and Chansung walked towards our side (they probably went in the wrong direction) XD We waved to them and said hi, and they waved back. My friends and I then walked down the next block and just stood there fangirling. About 10 minutes or something, we saw them again! We asked for photographs, hoping they’ll say yes since their manager wasn’t there, but they said no :( One of my friend told them (as they were walking by) that we weren’t stalking them, and we were just standing there when they bumped into us again. LMAO. I’m not sure if they understood though XD. They then started to cross the streets and we just waved and said bye to them like idiots. Chansung waved back ahaha. While we were following them from across the street, one of my friend saw her friend and told her. They started chasing after them! Chansung and Junho then crossed the street -probably to avoid them-, bumping me and my friends again LMAO. We didn’t follow them though, since I think we annoyed them enough, and we got autographs.

Overall it was a great experience hehe. Although I’m really bitter about the picture :( The boys did not really smile, kind of disappointing. But I guess I can understand, since there’s a language barrier and they probably didn’t want us bothering their shopping experience. My biggest disappointment was Nichkhun. He was my favorite member and I heard he was really nice and stuff, but I did not see that kindness at all. When they were walking out of Bloomingdales, I told them that we saw them at the Wonder Girls’ concert and they did a great job. Nichkhun only said thank you without any facial expression. Out of the whole group he was probably the coldest one. Chansung definitely jumped a lot on my favorite list.

I went to Virgina Beach on May 20 for my senior trip. We left at night on May 20th (Thursday) and returned on May 24th. The drive to Virgina Beach was 6+ hours. We got to Golden Corral around 6:30AM for breakfast. The breakfast was buffet style. People raved about Golden Corral, but I thought the food was only alright. We then drove to an aquarium, which was my least favorite part of the trip. The aquarium was lame, and they barely had anything in it. It seemed more of a museum than an aquarium. We then went to watch an IMAX movie, which I fell asleep in. haha

Things started to pick up after that. We drove to the beach and we stayed there for about 3 hours. It was a nice day, so the water was nice. I was hoping to get a tan, since I’m as pale as a vampire. I did get a slight tan, but I couldn’t get rid of my glasses tan lmao. After the beach, we finally checked in to our hotel. The hotel was really nice, which really surprised me. Anyways, I roomed with four other friends. We all started to get ready for the cruise where we will have our dinner. It was fun dressing up :D The cruise was one of my favorite part during this whole trip. Although the food wasn’t that good, I had a fun time. Everyone was dancing and the mood was great.

The next day we went to Busch Garden, an amusement park. We stayed there for the whole day. We ordered really good food (since we had a voucher), but it was difficult to finish. Busch Gardens is really cute. The park is separated into different “European countries.” There are various of things to do at the park. There are regular roller coasters, water rides (which I rode a million of times & got soaked XD), animal shows, etc… When we returned to our hotel, my hotel group was planning to hold a surprise birthday party for another friend. Unfortunately our plan failed because our room was right across from the teachers,AND our teachers were really strict about being in our rooms at 12PM OTL. We heard rumors about how there were police roaming around the floors -_-. So we didn’t want to risk and get into trouble so we ended up throwing a really small surprise party the next morning. We had so much junk food left over ;_;

On the third day we packed up and left Virgina Beach. Although the trip was short, I had a lot of fun with my homegirls hehehe :D

So I have finally decided which college I’m going to: New York University. I’m entering their College of Nursing. I’m kind of disappointed at my financial package, and there’s nothing I can really do. :( With my University scholarships, grants, and federal aid, I would need to pay nearly 16K. This is not including room and board fees since I’m planning to stay at home. I definitely can’t afford that, but thankfully I have loans that cover the whole cost. I really need to work hard in college next year and hopefully my financial package will get better.

On another topic, I quit my job (@ O.M.G the Jeans store) after Spring Break ended. Reason? My manager is a jerk. I had finished my shift and asked to leave, but she asked me to stay for another ten minutes and I told her I couldn’t because I felt sick. During my lunch break I ate a Whopper Jr. from Burger King and I felt really sick. She got pissy at me and gave me an attitude, but allowed me to leave anyways. Just outside my apartment building I threw up. For the rest of the day, I threw up whatever I ate or drank. So the next morning I called to take the day off so I can visit my doctor. My phone call to my manager ended up in an argument and I quit over the phone.

I found another job a block away. Also at a clothing store. The working environment was much better, except the manager didn’t like me much. She kept telling me that I was working too slow (I worked the same pace as everyone else, some were even slower), and complained that I wasn’t making an effort to memorize where the clothes were put at. I knew where most of the clothes were at, and it wasn’t my fault when clothes were moved around every single day, so it takes a little time for me to find and memorize where they were. In addition, there were some people who didn’t know where ANY of the clothes were. I worked there for about two weeks, and she gave me this talk where she implied that she wanted me to leave.

I didn’t mind leaving there since I was planning to take a 4 day break since my Senior trip was later that week :p Pretty sure she would’ve been even more annoyed if I asked for a 4 day break. I will post up my senior trip experience in the next post.

It has been over a month since I last updated, and so much has happened. I finally found a part time job, and I finally heard back from most colleges. Time is passing way too fast. It seems like it was only last week when I had my mid-winter break, but now I’m on my Spring break!

First off, I would like to tell you about my part time job that I had been working for a little over a month. I am currently working for about 25 hours a week as a sales associate at a clothing store called “OMG The Jeans Store.” yeah weird name. I found this job by walking in and asking for an application since I saw their hiring sign. I’m getting paid minimum wage, $7.25. It’s not the much, especially after all the taxes and stuff; but it is a source for me to earn money to pay for my senior trip and trip fees. I don’t really like it there. The first few weeks were horrid for me. There are two managers at the store, a girl and a guy. The guy manager was who sort of “trained” me during the first week and a half. I don’t know why but I really felt like he was picking on me, especially when I first started. Our store is really strict with customer service. Usually at a store customers will go to sales associates if they need help, but that’s not the case at my work place – we go to the customers and assist them. Every time when I’m not with a customer, even for a split second, the guy manager would be up on my ass. Now he doesn’t do it so much because I seize a customer whenever I see them. I feel kind of bad for customers because we sale associates sort of annoy them, especially if they’re the ones who don’t like to be bother while shopping. Hopefully they understand that we’re doing that because our managers are watching and that’s our job. =/
Working as sale associate is tiring and boring. Standing for about 5 hours folding clothes, assisting customers, listening to the same music, is just not my thing. I really want to quit, but I feel like I would regret it once I do. I guess I’ll continue working there until I find a better job.

On a happier topic, I heard back from almost all my colleges that I applied to! I got into: Drexel, Northeastern, New Paltz, Fordham, Hunter, Baruch, some other CUNYs I’m not so interested in, and New York University. Yes, you read right; NYU!!! I was so surprised when I got an acceptance letter from them. I was so positive I wasn’t going to get in because 1) It’s a reach school for me. 2) My SATs are not good enough. 3) My GPA is only ~93. 3) I took like 2 AP classes, but I didn’t pass all of them… 4) My extra circular activities, honors and awards aren’t anything special. But I did. I got into NYU College of Nursing! My first choice! I really want to go, but I’m going to see if I can afford it, and I don’t know if I can handle NYU / nursing courses. :( I heard students who are nursing majors have no social life and stuff. I don’t know if I can handle all the stress and work load. So I’m in the process of finalizing the major I was to pursue and deciding which college I want to go to. The only college I’m waiting for a letter is Binghamton University.

I’m going to end this post now since it’s getting long. I will continue on my next update :)

So I finally made my first wordpress layout. It was really a pain in the neck, especially coding the navigation section. Designing and coding the layout into html wasn’t hard, but converting it so it would be suitable for wordpress drove me nuts. Usually it would take a few hours for me to complete a layout, but this one took quite a while. Overall I’m satisfied with my work. Hopefully there won’t be any glitches :) I still need to work on some finishing touches, but I couldn’t wait to put this up.

This layout features Kpop girl group, Brown Eyed Girls. I usually don’t fangirl over girl groups, but I really like Brown Eyed Girls. These girls aren’t you’re typical idol groups. I’m pretty sick of the girl group craze in Korea, but they’re the only group that I actually don’t mind. In terms of age, these girls are pretty old. Three members are 28 (30 in Korea), and their youngest member is only 22 (23 in Korea). So they can pull off they sexy look without looking like fools that are trying too hard. Also since they’re older, they don’t need to act cutesy. In terms of talent, these girls own most of the active girl groups out there. Vocally, these girls absolutely amazing. BEG (acronym of their name) initially debuted as a “no face” group, meaning they concentrated on vocals rather than looks. ( watch them do a cover of You Raised Me Up ) It’s quite a shame, but to be honest, these girls did not get recognized until they started to do more dance tracks and they made themselves prettier. These girls are also quite funny. Most girl groups aren’t funny on variety shows since they all want to protect their image and stuff, but surprisingly, BEG members are entertaining. Hopefully they’ll continue to gain popularity.

Hope you guys like the new layout :) A big thanks to Connie for sharing sites with me that helped me code this layout <3
